When and how was your band created?
It’s the same classic story you have heard thousand times before. You are at bar with your buddies and after few drinks you have the idea of a very special band… This time it happened at early 90′s at Imaamin Keinutuoli, Helsinki.

Where is the name of the band coming from?
VJ Katja Giglinger had this cool surname. At least it’s certainly better name for band than Elvis in Hollywood, Coyboys vs. Indians or any other clever candidates we had.

What musicians or artists did have a major influence in your life / work?
Biafra, Lydon, Thåström

What are the positive and negative aspects of being a musician in Finland?
Don’t know ‘cos we haven’t met one.

How could you qualify your style of music?
Punk’n'breaks. Chaos and distortion with modern flavours.

During the years how has your musical style evolved?
More hooks, better sounds… ie. nothing have changed fundamentally.

How do explain these changes?
Long hours of hard work and after ten years we have finally found out what kind of music we want and can do.

What are stories/topics you tell/treat in your songs?
All against system but with no sense.

Have you ever considered the possibilty to change totally your style of  music? If so, what style of music would you choose?
A big part of our style is based on our limited musical talent. So this kind of issues are irrelevant and absurd for us.

What is your favorite song in your repertoire and why?
These are without doubt Big Muff and Top Alcohol. Big Muff ‘cos it’s the first song that have came out the studio as their all should come. Top Alcohol ‘cos it’s just over the top.

Do you tour regularly? Do you prefer performing your music live or in a
studio?
We don’t tour. We don’t make gigs. We prefer studio perfection.

During the process of making an album, what is the moment that you prefer?
Giglinger is single (/ep) band. Well, maybe few Best of … albums will see the light.
What kind of music / What artists do you currently listen?
Punk, HC, Garage, Surf, Big Beat …

A stupid question but… what is, among all the songs you’ve been listening in
your life, the BEST song? Why?
Holiday in Campodia and Holidays in the Sun ‘cos they changed the world as we knew it.

What is your opnion, as a musician, regarding internet?
Well, we have nothing but good to say about internet. You can find so much valuable stuff from the net. It’s amazing and we are not even talking about the pirate stuff here, but a big bonus is that those Big Five haven’t get it.

What are your actual and future projects?
The search of the perfect recording goes on.
